Frequently Asked Questions
- What’s the best way to get from the airport to my Tropical Villa? Taxi service and car rental agencies abound at each of our two international airports; we recommend however, that guests take an arrival transfer, particularly as roads are not well sign-posted and our secluded, exclusive villas are often difficult to find.
- Can Tropical Villas Ltd. (TVL) arrange for a car rental? TVL can make a reservation on your behalf and arrange vehicle delivery to the villa. The car rental staff can then complete all the paperwork for you.
- Is there a Tropical Villas information desk at the airport?
TVL does not have a check in desk at the airport. Please ensure that we have your arrival information so that we can arrange for the handover of keys.
- How much is departure tax?
Non-nationals pay a US $26 departure tax at the airport.
- Can I arrange for a party at my Tropical Villa?
Tropical Villas maintains a strict policy discouraging the use of the villas for private functions and parties.
- I’d like to have the pantry stocked, can Tropical Villas arrange for this? Absolutely. For US $40 per person, we can stock your villa with the foods you prefer. Use our standard grocery listing, delete and add items as desired. Please note that our ability to fill your request is subject to availability.
- Is it customary to tip in St Lucia? This is an emerging custom. Hotels and most restaurants attach a 10% service charge to the bill. We recommend a tip of $75 per week, per couple for the head housekeeper at your villa.
- Is the water safe to drink? While the mains water is potable, many people prefer to buy drinking water.
- How do I arrange for an internet connection? At present, the villas do not come with internet connections. However, guests can avail themselves of an internet service at the TVL office during office hours (8.30 am-4pm) for a small fee.
- Is there telephone service from my Tropical Villa? Local calls are free; for overseas dialling simply arrange with TVL for a credit card pre-authorisation of US $500.
