Flowers

An assortment of exotic tropical orchids, ginger lilies, birds of paradise……We can provide any colour of flowers required, although it is not possible to guarantee the type of flower provided on the day we will certainly try our best to assist you. It is all up to you to decide what colour you would like to have. Apart from the brides' bouquet, a flower girl basket, corsages for the ladies and buttonholes the gentlemen are also available.

Music

This always sets the right tone for any occasion, especially your wedding day. In some villas there are CD or cassette players if you wish to listen to a favourite song or have music at the reception. Arrangements can also be made to have a live steel band, guitarist or saxophonist. The beauty about having your own villa is that you can customize and personalize.

Photos

Capture each moment of happiness on camera for lasting memories. Pictures can be taken at the villa, in the garden, on the beach, wherever your heart desires. Whatever you request (i.e. 36 or 24) the photographer usually takes more to enable you and your spouse a good choice from the best variety of pictures. You will also be given the negatives of the chosen photographs.

Video

Both standard and extended video will be provided in European or American System as appropriate. Please do not pass video or negatives through airport x-ray machines. Standard video includes: the actual ceremony, cutting of the cake and champagne toast. Extended video includes: Shots of the island, bride preparing in room, groom waiting in another room, bride walking to the wedding site, ceremony, signing of registrar book, presentation of marriage certificate, champagne toast, cutting of the cake, music and graphics.

The Formalities

It is necessary to meet with a local lawyer to arrange the legal formalities. We recommend McNamara and Co (452 2662). They are located at the Derek Walcott square in Castries. The contact there is Pat. Please fill out the Marriage License forms and ensure you have all the necessary documents (see below) before you meet with the lawyer.

Documentation

Original documents are required
1. Valid passports or birth certificates + immigration form received from St.Lucia Immigration upon arrival
2. If one of the parties is a divorcee, he divorce certificate including the Decree Absolute
3. In the case of a widow or widower, a Death Certificate is required.
4. If change of name by Deed Poll, proof is required.
5. If under the age of 18, evidence of consent of parents is required in the form of a notarized document by a Notary Public.
Please note that a statutory declaration stating present martial status is NOT required.

The Ceremony

The ceremony is conducted by the Registrar and is legal according the British Law. They are usually scheduled between Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm but the date and time selected is subject to the availability of the Registrar. Marrying in a Commonwealth country means that the only record of your wedding is your Marriage Certificate. If you misplace this document you will need to contact the Registrar. Your Marriage Certificate will be given or posted to you.

Please note that the maximum number of guests that can be accommodated at the ceremony is the number of persons able to be resident in the villa + 6 invited guests. If you wish to have a larger party - please note Tropical Villas must be informed in advance and we must obtain the villa owner's permission (please note this is not always granted). There may be extra charges to accommodate such a party.

Please note the villas can only accommodate a simple reception and this should be referred to your wedding co-ordinator to see what is possible at the location you have chosen.
